Rejection stings. It forces us to question ourselves and shatters our need to belong. Leaving us disappointed, confused, and even resentful, it becomes an emotional trigger for us. Triggers may lead us to spiral into a sea of self-pity, or worse, leave us feeling stuck, fearful to continue on.

Given the negative emotions tied to rejection, our mind builds a defense mechanism in response. This mechanism can prevent us from pushing the dimensions of our comfort zone out of fear.

Naturally, we do not want to revisit the trauma of rejection and our mind supports and reinforces this mindset by increasing our anxiety surrounding new endeavors.

Anything with the slightest amount of associated risk becomes an automatic threat. A fearful disposition surrounding rejection will continue to perpetuate a cycle of anxiety, self-doubt, and stagnicity. A healthier relationship with rejection has great promise but it begins with rewiring your mindset.

I want to feel good even on my worst days and that is only created from within.
